Vishing is a new threat to banks (and bank customers). The only effective defense I see (from the bank's side anyway) is to figure out how to implement multi-factor authentication for voice response systems and educate customers that this is the only phone number to phone in order to discuss their existing accounts and services. It makes providing good customer service more difficult, but do banks have a choice?
